How does CoinMarketCap track the capitalization of cryptocurrencies?

We tracks capitalization of various cryptocurrencies by listing prices, available supply (amount of coins that is currently in circulation), trade volume over last 24 hours, or market capitalizations. CoinMarketCap was founded in May 2013 by Brandon Chez in Long Island City, Queens, New York.

Crypto market cap is the total value of all the coins of a particular cryptocurrency that have been mined or are in circulation. Market capitalization is used to determine the ranking of cryptocurrencies. The higher the market cap of a particular crypto coin, the higher its ranking and share of the market.
